For tonight's Auburn-Oregon BCS Championship Game, the University of Phoenix Stadium is fairly well scrubbed of its Arizona Cardinals logos and signs — with a few exceptions.
Wherever a BCS, Tostitos or Fiesta Bowl logo can cover up the Cardinals bird logo it does in the Glendale stadium. There are a few parking lot signs with beak and feathers outside UOP Stadium. And, of course there is the Cards logo etched in into every row and seat at the Glendale dome. The color schemes of the seats at the stadium are, of course red and gray. That's not too far off the Cards own color scheme.
One official joked, "What are we going to do cover up every single seat"
in a 70,000-seat stadium.
From those watching on TV, there was no indication the game is being played on the Cardinals home field.
Cards personnel were helping with the IT at the stadium on Monday.
The Orange, Sugar, Cotton, Outback and Gator bowls are also played in NFL stadiums.
