“Arizona would be a great place,”
said Kolb on the radio sports show.
“I’ve obviously envisioned myself there and some other places. They all have a chance to be great, and that’s the kind of team you want to go to if you’re going to be traded.”
Picking up Kolb could help the Cardinals with ticket sales as they try to sign up season ticket buyers after a disappointing 5-11 season in the first year after Kurt Warner’s retirement. The Cards and NFL teams are also trying to overcome continued reticent consumers and business spending and any lingering fan fallout from a lockout that saw owners and players fighting for the NFL’s $9.3 billion annual haul.
The Cards have sold out all the home games at University of Phoenix Stadium since moving to Glendale in 2006. A Kolb trade could help continue that streak and the team’s strong local television ratings.
Kolb’s comments were picked up on NFL.com and also were run on the Cardinals team website.
