Chris Wells was also a star player in Garfield High School. Chris Wells was considered as one of the best recruit out of Ohio State Buckeyes and solidified that in the Army All-American Bowl where he was named the Most Valuable Player.

Chris Wells rushed for 222 yards in the annual rivalry against Michigan more than any other Ohio State Buckeyes running back against Michigan.
